Emergency care practically in Ecublens

Les urgences desservant Ecublens

Ecublens does not have its own hospital or ambulatory emergency clinic. Residents usually travel to the emergency centers in nearby cities such as Lausanne or Morges. However, there is also a walk-in emergency service right in the heart of Renens: the Centre médical Gare de Renens, which can meet this need.

A major university town, Ecublens is home to the EPFL campus and part of the University of Lausanne, welcoming thousands of students, teachers, and staff every day. With such a large and active population, medical needs naturally arise: sports injuries, infections, and minor emergencies. Many people still go to hospital emergency rooms for these issues, even though it isn’t necessary to travel all the way to Lausanne to be seen quickly.

Our solution !

Thanks to its direct connection via the M1 metro, the Centre médical Gare de Renens offers the university community fast, reliable access to quality walk-in emergency care.

Who can use this emergency service?

We welcome patients aged 16 and over, Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Care is covered by basic Swiss health insurance (LAMal), and billing is sent directly to your insurer.

Since Ecublens hosts the UNIL and EPFL campuses, we would like to highlight an important point: international students often do not have Swiss health insurance. In these cases, the consultation must be paid on site, and they will receive a receipt to submit to their insurer afterwards.
